The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has been a box office success, surprising not only the trade but also the movie industry. The film, which was premiered in theatres on March 11, is based on the evacuation of Kashmiri Pandits from India’s northernmost state during the Kashmir Insurgency in the 1990s. As depicted in the film, hundreds of people perished, and countless others were forced to flee their homes and relocate to other parts of India.
Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Puneet Issar, and Prakash Belawadi play important roles in the film. ZEE5 owns the digital rights to the film. Earlier this year, the movie got a theatrical release and now will be available for streaming on the ZEE5 platform on May 13, 2022.
