How to Choose the Perfect Mouse Pad

Tired of buying cheap mouse pads that wear out quickly? Or maybe you want to move up to something bigger or better? Here’s what you need to know to choose the best mouse pad:

Size and Portability

Size is one of the most important things to think about when choosing a mouse pad. Even though it’s easy to just click the order button on the first good-looking Amazon search result, you don’t want to get something that’s too big or too small. A small mousepad can be hard to use because you have to move your mouse back to the middle all the time or it will slide off the edge of the pad.

Most people don’t mind having a big mouse pad because they can just let it hang off the edge of their desk. Even though it doesn’t look the best, you can always get more of the pad when you need it. But if you don’t want any extra space, you’ll need to find a size that fits better and doesn’t take up too much of your desk.

Take a ruler or measuring tape and precisely measure the space where you want to place your mouse pad.  This will help you decide how big or small you want to go. You should also think about where else you’ll use the pad often and what could get in the way. A laptop, paper, a keyboard, or a monitor are some examples.

In terms of portability, the bigger your mouse pad, the more room it will take up in your bag and at other places where you work. If you travel a lot or want to be able to move your setup around easily, you should probably get a smaller pad. Bringing a 40-inch mouse pad to a coffee shop is probably not a good idea. On the other hand, if you don’t plan to move your pad around much, you can get a bigger one since you won’t have to worry about carrying it.

Zapvi is the biggest Indian online store, where you can buy customized mobile covers, a custom mouse pad, coffee mug printing and a photo keychain.

Hard or Soft

The surface of a mouse pad can be hard or soft. Hard pads can be made of metal, glass, or plastic. Most soft pads, on the other hand, are made of cloth. Both choices are good, so you should pick the one you like best.

Because they don’t have as much friction, mouse pads that are too hard are harder to control. With less friction, it’s harder to get your mouse to stop exactly where you want it to. But you will be able to move your mouse faster. At first, it might be hard to be exact and get used to the speed, but you’ll get used to it. This is good for people who do a lot of quick or large movements, like video game players or artists. The Firefly Hard V2 from Razer is a great mouse pad to think about.

Hard mouse pads are also easier to clean and will usually last longer than their soft counterparts. A hard mouse pad doesn’t need much care to stay in good shape.

One of the biggest problems with hard mouse pads is that they can wear out your mouse’s feet, especially if you don’t have good friction pads. The hard surface is also not very good for ergonomics. If you want a more comfortable experience, you should use a soft mouse pad or get an external wrist rest.

Soft mouse pads make using a computer much more comfortable and are great for people who spend a lot of time in front of a computer. Also, since there is usually more friction, they are much easier to control. This makes the cursor move more slowly and more precisely, which is easy to get used to. With the soft material, your wrist and hand will feel good when you rest them on it. Most hard pads can’t be rolled up and taken with you, but soft pads can.

One problem with soft mouse pads is that they don’t last as long as hard ones. They are easy to get dirty and hard to clean. If you’re not careful, the fabric can also bunch up or fold, making it harder to use. If you want something that will last longer and be more durable, a hard mouse pad might be a better choice.

Resistance

One important thing to look for in a mouse pad is that it doesn’t slip. The bottom of these mouse pads will be textured and not slip, so they won’t move around while you use them. This is important for any computer activity, but especially for gaming, because the pad won’t move or bunch up when you’re in the middle of a fight.

It’s also nice to have a pad that won’t get wet, but it’s not necessary unless you’re worried about drinks spilling. Even if something goes wrong, at least you know your mouse pad won’t get dirty or start to smell. If that happens, you could always give it a good cleaning.

Fun and Useful Features

Mouse pads can have a number of extra features that you might find helpful. For instance, the edges of most gaming mouse pads, like the Razer Firefly v2, have RGB lighting. But since they are powered by USB, you’ll have to deal with another cable. Most of the time, you can’t change the lighting, but it still looks good.

There are also mouse pads that can help you organize your desk and keep your cords in order. People who have a lot of devices or accessories plugged in will love these pads. And if you want to avoid wires as much as possible, you can choose a mouse pad with a wireless charger built right in.

A high-end mouse pad like the Orbitkey Desk Mat has a place to hold cables and charge them, as well as a place to hide paper. Yes, it will cost a lot more than a regular pad, but it is a great investment because it is so useful.
